I've been asked on BlenderArtists forum a timelapse video showing the modeling of one element of the city.
Here it is ( quite painfull as 6000 successive screenshots are quite long to process ) online on youtube.
This video also exists in bette quality as an animated gif but the file is quite voluminous.
